Exercise:

I recommend daily moderate physical exercise, e.g. 90 minutes of walking per day.

All of the following aspects are included in getting fit:

  1. Strength
  2. Aerobic exercise
  3. Flexibility
  4. Coordination
  5. Speed – important more for sports people

However, every type of sport exercises all of these aspects, just weighted differently. A combination of different sports is the most effective way to incorporate each of these aspects.


For those who are ill, it is a longer road to get exercising and the route often goes via:

  1. passive types of physiotherapy e.g. heat/cold, water, massage, passive movement.
  2. active types of physiotherapy e.g. gym work accompanied by physios.
  3. rehabilitative sport.
  4. physical exercise, sports.

The route may be long, but it’s worth it – to stop is to die!
